Bermuda Triangle: Where science meets fiction

In an area that stretches from Florida coast on the West, to Bermuda on the North East, to Puerto Rico in the South East, there lies the infamous Bermuda Triangle or the Devils Triangle. There have been umpteen incidences of ship wreck, ship engine malfunctions and airplane disappearances in these mysterious waters. Paranormal explanations have been stated as the reason behind such anomalies. Scientists and researchers have different views. Their research observations with regard to Bermuda Triangle ranges from phenomena like magnetic vortex, magnetic variation and space time warp to electronic fog. But I am not here to tell you about all such much-discussed hypothesis. Actually I have a story here which I wanted to share since long. You must be wondering what I mean by 'have a story'. I have been sailing around the world since I was just a toddler. I have spent some wonderful years of my life in the company of veteran sailors, boatswains and seafarers whose lives are like enigmatic tales. They belonged to different countries like Philippines, Korea, Bangladesh, Japan, Chile and India. My fate ordained my meeting with the stalwart seamen who shared their mesmerizing experiences and 'hard-to-believe' sea facts with me. It is one of such narrations that I am sharing with you.
It is an intriguing tale of a trainee pilot. His assignment permitted him to fly from Miami aviation camp to Bermuda, without entering the Bermuda triangle zone. He was on his way when he felt a strong impulse to fly over the inauspicious triangle and he changed his route. It was a bright sunny morning with soft breeze blowing past his plane. After a little while there was a sudden tremor and the compass began to fluctuate vigorously. The young pilot felt his spine go rigid with fear of the unknown disaster. Astonished, he looked up the open-glass cockpit and saw a shining airplane buoying just above his craft at a low speed. The anomaly lasted for over a minute. His plane recovered as soon as the strange airplane went out of sight. Our terrified pilot steered out of the Bermuda triangle as fast as he could and boarded off.
Once he was back on the ground, his thoughts began troubling him because he knew what he saw was incongruous. The aircraft that he witnessed at the early hours of the troubled flight day was none other than the ones which were in use much before the first world war. These old airplanes required a different class of fuel which is not available in the current time. Moreover most of such planes were dilapidated beyond age. Ignoring a dispute with his own logic, our pilot visited several aircraft hangers all over the U.S where the class of crafts were manufactured ages back. Finally he located the only place where the last of its kind was safely preserved. With millions of questions in mind, he set out for the hangar.
It was a dark musty place where he found the giant form covered with layers of dust. The porter encouraged our pilot to explore the cockpit. There was an uncanny feeling once he was inside the cockpit. A dusty moist air lingered over the space. The pilot put on the helmet and pulled out a diary which lay over the front shelf. To his utmost bewilderment he read the only note that the diary had. It dated back to some eighty years when the sanguinary battles stamped the world. The note was written by a pilot who witnessed a very strange event. He was flying over the Bermuda triangle when suddenly his craft began malfunctioning. A shining steel-bodied aerodynamic fighter jet glided out of nowhere right below his plane. It was an unbelievable sight as such planes were just a concept at those times. His aircraft gained control once the steel edifice went out of sight. The plane even had an insignia of some government body which the pilot had scribbled roughly beside the note. Down the page there was a date and time mentioned which made our young pilot wince out of his sanity. It was the same date (but, eighty years ago) when he too had experienced the strange event. The steel-bodied craft which was mentioned in the note was none other than his own plane which is a superjet fighter. He fumbled out of the cockpit with unsteady steps with a million questions humming in his mind.
How can one fathom the reason why a plane which flew eighty years back was visible over the Bermuda triangle on the same date and time? How could the inverse happen breaking the laws of universe? How could the pilots see each others craft when time is a non-reversible parameter?
There have been numerous researches which pointed out explanations on the line of space-time analogy. The mystery continued with the repeat of some events of the same nature. Today, studies have suggested a partial possible answer to such anomalies, which we would discuss shortly. Till then, exercise your mind to find out reasons. Always ask "WHY???" !!!
